Create a PowerPoint Template

Learn How to Create a PowerPoint Template:

I've created this tutorial for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2002 or 2003, though you can use it in other versions (like MS Office's PowerPoint 97 or 2000) with maybe minor differences. Once the template is created you'll be able to use it with PowerPoint 97, 2000, 2002 and 2003. That being said, here's how it works:

Once you've opened PowerPoint select File -> New -> (and in the New Presentation task pane) Blank presentation.

Click View -> Master -> Slide Master. Then Insert -> New Title Master. Now you have a Slide Master (upper one) and a Title Master (lower one). Anything you modify or add in these masters will appear in on all the slides based on Slide Master.

Go to Slide Master preview to see your Slide Master in edit mode. Now you can add a Background (either a color or an image) - I hope you know how to do that.

Now, do the same with your Title Master. (Click it to see it in the edit mode and the edit anything you want to edit)

You can also edit, either in the Slide Master or in the Title Master the fonts used, the colors of the fonts and stuff (Format -> Slide Design -> Slide Design task pane -> Color Schemes), alignment and so on.

That's it. Just save your newly designed template by clicking File -> Save As -> and from the Save as type choose Design Template (*.pot)

Ta-daaam.

If you have andy issues just leave me a comment. *wink-wink*

I was just wondering if it is possible to have something like a "footer slide"?

So at the moment there is The title slide - title master(kind of like a header slide)and the content slides(slide master)but there isn't a slide for final/closing. Is it possible to rig something up like that?
